Ace Attorney: Dual Destinies is just a couple of weeks away from release in Japan, and Capcom have revealed
a few more details regarding the third case involving Athena Cykes’
close friend, Juniper. In addition, they’ve also introduced some
features that will be helping players out during investigations and
trials.
In our previous report,
we learned that Athena’s friend, Juniper Woods, has been accused of a
crime she did not commit. Here’s a look at some of the key characters of
the third case, who seem to be involved with Juniper.
Chishio Atsui
Chishio is a hot-headed third-year student of Themis Law School, who
is currently taking prosecutor classes. He has a fiery passion, and
expresses it with his constant habit of shouting. Contrary to his
appearance, he’s also a member of the fine arts club, and is proud of
works on ceramic art.
Rei Shizuya
Like Chishio, Rei is also a third-year student at Themis Law School,
except he’s part of a lawyer class. Not only is he the ace of the
archery club, but he’s also an acknowledged genius. He’s a young man who
is full of confidence, but he also has a bad attitude of looking down
on others. They say he’s cold as ice, and would even point an arrow to
those who oppose him.
As previously reported, Athena’s friend, Juniper Woods, was accused
of a crime she didn’t commit, and appeared in the school newspaper with
two other people. The other two have been revealed as Chishio and Rei.
Juniper from judge class, Rei from lawyer class, and Chishio from
prosecutor class are all said to be involved in the case that occurred
in Themis Law School. It will be up to Athena and her Mood Matrix to
help solve the case.
What makes this case puzzling is that the victim, a teacher of
Themis, had been killed in the exact same way as the script Juniper, the
president of the student council, had written for a mock trial.
Everything about the actual case seems to perfectly match what’s on the
script, which is baffling even to Apollo.
Athena is shown stuttering as she steps onto the court, and Apollo seems to not be able to hide his concerns.
To make matters worse, they’ll be going against the prosecutor who is currently serving a jail sentence for murder, Jin Yugami.
Athena lacks experience in the court, and seems to be rattled against
Yugami, but this is where she and her Mood Matrix will truly be tested
with her friend’s fate on the line.
Ace Attorney: Dual Destinies features an “Investigation
Memo”, which shows a check-list on things to do. This will come in handy
to refresh your memories on the case you’ve been working on.
When things get tough in court, you might see yourself being
penalized by the judge, which could ultimately result in failure. To
help you out, you can press the X button to consult your partner for
hints.
Due to high demand from fans, Capcom have added a backlog feature,
which you can access by pressing Y. Using this feature, you’ll get to
carefully read the previous discussions in court.
And finally…
Pearl Fey
In addition to the latest details on the third case and new features,
Capcom have also shared an image of a grown up Pearl Fey’s who will be
appearing in
Ace Attorney: Dual Destinies, however,
it has not been revealed as to what case she’ll be appearing in.
Ace Attorney: Dual Destinies is slated for release on July 25th in Japan and this Fall in the West on Nintendo 3DS.
